No one (I think) is in my tree. I mean, it must be high or low.
As humans, our empathy for an object grows as the object becomes more humanoid until it reaches what is called the "uncanny valley". In the uncanny valley, an object has gone beyond vaguely humanoid and into the realm of amazingly humanoid, to the point where discrepancies between the appearence of the object and the appearence of a human are alarmingly apparent and may be shocking or disgusting to a human viewer. Objects that fall in the uncanny valley may include corpses, sophisticated robots, and composite sketches.
Sometimes I get the feeling that if appearance reflected personality, mine would lie somewhere in the uncanny valley.
